There has been a lot going on over here in Hawaii these past few months. Work. Travel for work. More work. I am currently here in Kona for the Ironman World Championships – not to race, but to get my Retul Bike Fit certification!

Getting a test fit on the Retul Muve during class

Yes! I’m now a Retul certified fitter and I’ve got to tell you that I love, love, love the knowledge I’ve gained. I can’t wait to help riders of all types on Oahu find a better fit!10679678_10152486858579685_292937503544249273_o

I was able to hit up the Slowtwitch Kona Gathering party last night as well. I chatted with a few folks from Slowtwitch and drank a Nuuntini and made myself and decent Mai Tai! Had to down a few M&M’s there as that was all that there was to eat!

I’m glad I stuck around for the raffle because I won something! I never win anything! But I won…wait for it…and 2015 Blueseventy Helix wetsuit! Ha! I know there are cold-water people out there thinking “WTF is she gonna do with a full wetsuit?!?” Well, my excuse for NOT doing a mainland tri has been the wetsuit issue! So now, no excuses! I just need a bike box! The awesome guys at Blueseventy took down my deets and I’ll be getting their top-of-the-line $800 wetsuit next spring. Holy awesome crap!Blueseventy 2015 Helix winner!

Kona is the place to get inspired (and feel fat!) I love coming over here and can’t wait to be a part of the big day! I’m volunteering at medals distribution from 6-10pm and then will be ready to scream like a banshee for the best 2 hours of the race: 10-midnight! Wooohooo!!!

I brought my Lynskey out here with my Travoy trailer on the back. We hauled some serious luggage and equipment from the airport!

Hauling a load!

Walking your bike around Alii Drive will get you all kinds of free things! John Cobb from Cobb saddles spotting my Cobb Plus on my bike and sent me over to his booth for a free (very awesome) shirt! Got a pair of Newton’s too – plus a shirt! And I chatted with the Cannondale folks about the brand new Slice they just announced. I told them I had the 2013 Slice…got a free shirt. 😀 Picked up a brand new Garmin 920XT, got a free shirt! I’ve got one of the first 500 of the units to be made!

And I also took part in the underpants run!  What the hell was that????!!!

I’ll be updating more as the next few days unfold!
